Drone wouldn’t pair with remote
Had to send drone air 2s combo back as it wouldn’t pair with remote, waiting for refund, I also bought mini 3 Pro drone which paired and activated perfectly, now my dilemma is do I replace air 2s once refunded or add the extra and buy mavic 3 combo, so far amazon seem to be looking after me with purchase, so happy days

All I need
This was an upgrade from the mini 2. So glad skipped the mini 3.
Still use the 2 but S2 is my go to

You get what you pay for
What can I say about this drone, other than it’s superb. I’ll start with dispelling some of the confusion I had when looking at licences and general rules…
Directly from the flight association they simplified it by saying currently you can fly with an operator ID under and A2 which allows minimum distance of 50 metres, at the end of the year bordering into 2023 this drone will enter an A3 category which means you need to stay 150 metres away from people unless you have A2 (COC), and then it returns back to 50 metres… Simple.
I have signed up to A2 (COC), as this certificate is only £80 and last five years so I don’t need to be concerned about when the rules change. I’ve signed up through “The UAV Academy”, other firms offer the exact same certificate but are charging significantly more as they are resellers rather than the primary exam Proctor.
Only criticism is not about the actual product itself it’s trying to find instruction manuals online from DJI and downloading the app which required going to files and making an exception on my smartphone to install a non certificate app
The set up after the app is installed is fairly intuitive, icons are pretty self explanatory, the battery life is OK more would probably make it heavier. The gimbal is next level tech, it’s stable and responsive creating some of the best pictures I have seen from any photographic device that is in motion.
The obstacle avoidance is also top notch, I did a 50 metre run up a normal mode to my face, and it’s still intact and stopped with plenty of room… After that I picked a fight with the gazebo, shed, tree and inadvertently a pigeon the flew out of the tree in front making the drone do an emergency stop.
The sound is not intrusive although it’s full running motors suspending in the air so it’s never going to be silent. Appan setup it’s going to take a good hour to do everything from the app to read the instructions and get familiar with the controls… That hour is well invested as I only needed it on slow mode for the first two outings after that straight up two normal and even a dabble on sporting.
My son had a cheap drone to see if he liked it, my daughter had a slightly more expensive drone that I thought felt robust and was ok on both flight but picture is shaky, however this once again like the technology is next level it feels suitably robust and made to last.
Apart from praising once again the quality and versatility of this drone, I must stop typing and go out and play with it some more.
Happy and responsible droning to everyone hope this helped

Review
Critcisms:
– Edges in any full FOV mode i.e. 4k less than or = 30fps or 5.4k, are a little soft. To be expected with a 22m equiv. No aberrations or anything major though.
– 4k 60 is very soft I think because it’s 1:1 pixel sampling from the middle of the sensor, (i.e. no down sampling). Pretty sure the bitrate has something to do with it also – quick pans in complex environments and the compression goes haywire. The crop still equates to way more than a 1/2.3 inch or 1/2 inch sensor so I’m not sure why 4k 60 looks at least no better than the mavic air 2’s. To my eye it looks like excellent 1080p or mediocre 1440p at best. The lack of sharpness with 60fps will probably make me upgrade to a mavic 3 at some stage lol. DON’T BUY THIS FOR ‘4K NOT 4K’ 60.
– Some wish DJI made a bigger battery for this version. The advantage is that the ‘power – weight’ of this drone is stupendous. The ascent (and descent) rate is 6m/s which is phenomenal for a drone that lasts realistically ~24 minutes in the air – it’s very inspire 2 like. If you have a mini/mini 2, this has a similar flight time. In the UK with CE transmission power, the battery life and signal strength complement each other rather well – you’ll generally find yourself running out of signal strength around the time you’re running low on juice. This will be anywhere from ~7-8km out if flying perpendicular to the wind.
– Also, you must fly at around 12 – 13m/s to get the most flight time (and dist.) in most scenarios, which requires you to manually hold the sticks from maximum. In normal mode it will default to 15m/s which is annoying – I wish there was a software feature to change this yourself like with the Autel 2. In return to home it defaults to 12m/s. Obvs if you’re flyng with the wind on the way back, you’ll get closer to a 12m/s relative if you push the stick to get 15m/s, or even fly in sport manually if the wind is particularly strong.
– If you’re not doing stupid range tests, the battery is more than long enough – with the fly more kit, you can get well over an hour of flight time which I think is more than most people will want to fly in a day.
Don’t buy this drone for the 4k 60, I think you’ll be disappointed. 5.4k 30 is fantastic however. SHOOT IN DLOG. The oversharpening with the standard colour profiles is criminal and causes lots of ‘aliasing shimmering’ if you are watching the footage back on certain displays.
Stay away from birds – seagulls are particularly aggravated by the frequency of this drone (much more than the mini), so especially stay high and/or fast when near the sea).
Other pertinent notes:
– Use smart photo mode for night shots – ‘hyperlight’ is excellent.
– 4 antennas = great signal even in CE countries
– Multicharger thing is useless – charges the batteries sequentially which takes hours. Buy the ‘LYONGTECH Battery Home Charger’ – also allows you to easily maintain the LiPo’s at 12V for storage e.g. if you’re not flying all week. You don’t want to be replacing £90 batteries too often.
– You’ll need a lot of storage – at least a few 256gb sdxc cards if you’re going on a trip for more than a week. You’ll probably end up being a lot more picky about what and when you film for this reason.

Brilliant.
Brilliant drone, just that the one I received from Amazon Warehouse had been activated and locked to some ones Dji account and it will not take off, should have been unlocked before sent out. Only Dji or person who originally locked it can unlock it. Regards.

Great when it works….I got a defective unit and will return / replace it with another one.
Hopefully I just got a defective drone but 3 times since I got it the video feed to my phone would freeze with full signal between RC and Drone and less than 500m away clear line of sight etc which is no use for a drone aimed at prosumer photographers and videographers.
Telemetry still worked when the video feed froze so it wasn’t the app freezing or my phone at fault, I could see the drones location, height speed etc changing so was able to safely return the drone home and land each time but was unable to recover video feed once it froze until I completely shutdown the drone and restart it. Reconnecting the phone cable, restarting the app and restarting the controller did not work. Still just showed telemetry only not video feed.
This made the drone pretty useless for my use case of making travel YouTube videos.
I also dropped a star for stability as I noticed when taking photos the drone would yaw to the right while hovering in no wind. That could have been a prop issue but I replaced them with the spares in the flymore kit and the problem persisted so now I’m thinking poorly calibrated IMU or compass error. Shame the new drones don’t have secondary IMU’s or compass to refer to like my original Mavic Air did.
Amazon have let me return the drone with no questions and I plan to buy a replacement from them as soon as I get my refund. All in all this is an amazing drone…when it works, it has amazing features with its 1 inch camera, 30min battery and its auto RTH and landing accuracy is astounding on my little helipad but I felt the need to share my experience of when it goes wrong as a warning to anyone who would not be comfortable flying the drone without a video feed. Make sure your RTH safe height and signal loss auto RTH settings are setup correctly so you don’t lose your drone when things go wrong.

So easy to use and good flying time.
Unwrap it, charge it up and go fly. Simple, intuitive and the camera is brilliant with loads of automatic video/photography available from the app. I would definitely recommend this package with the additional batteries and ND filters. An exposure control on the camera would have been nice but tbh with the filters it’s not really a problem, and I guess an expsure control might have compromised the performance of the camera/gimbal with additional weight. Just one word of caution, I use mine with an iPhone 13+ which, when using a case, is a real squeeze to fit into the holder. Not fallen out yet, but a slightly larger cradle to accomodate the larger phones available would have been good.

It would be a 5 star review only one of the batteries is faulty.
Brilliant drone. Love flying it. You need a flier id and drone operator id before you fly.
Would of been a 5star review but one of the batteries was faulty and amazon’s way of dealing with this is return the complete kit or repair. Which you need a printer for.
So big let down from amazon.

Good quality – without carefree package though
Bought a used version – good quality and works ok. Advertised as coming with DJI care refresh however it doesn’t and can’t be reapplied as it’s used. Amazon did reduce the price when I told them this.

Early days as yet
Early days as yet but a lack of practical information about how to use it effectively was missing in my view. If you have used other drones beforehand then maybe fine but as a novice a very nervous start. Go on line and watch YouTube video’s is a way forwards
