A very good quality piece of unmanned aircraft (do fly sensibly)
You get the quality built as it is from DJI, being an Air 2 which falls into the Mavic family you know you are getting a high quality of unmanned aircraft/drone. It is suitable for both professional as well as beginners as the build-in functions and sensors could potentially prevent you from crashing it into something. I have to say though it is probably a better idea to get a DJI Mini 2 if you are a beginner as it is a lot lighter (less damage to 3rd party in case of accident) and easier to travel with. With the new regulation which was brought in place by the CAA as of 31st Dec 2020, you will now require a Flyer ID as well as a Operator ID in order for you to operate the DJI Mini 2 (less than 250g) and you will need to keep your safe flying distance between your unmanned aircraft and uninvolved people. If you are planning to get this DJI Mavic Air 2 then on top of getting the Flyer ID and Operator ID you will also need to get the A2 CofC certificate in order to get the most out of this drone, otherwise you will only be able to fly it in an opened area by mean of keeping a minimum flying safety distance of 150 metres away from buildings and uninvolved people. With the A2 CofC certification, it will allow you to fly the Air 2 as a legacy drone (until the C2 marks available) on the A2 category (open category) by mean of you can get as close to uninvolved people as 30metres away, and if you put the Air 2 drone to “tripod” or “cine” mode which essentially means flying at its slowest speed you are allow to get as close to 5metres away from uninvolved people, obviously it is a lot safer to fly further away from people as unknown factor like strong wind could easily blow your drone to fly towards people or objects. The DJI Mavic Air 2 Combo is the best bet for your money as it comes with extra items like 2 spare batteries, ND filters, props, carrier bags, multi charger etc. If you are to purchase the drone alone it would cost you a lot more in the long run should you decide to purchase all the aforementioned items separately. If you are going to invest the money into this drone I would strongly recommend you also purchase the “DJI Refresh” in order to cover your accidental damage, this covers up to two claims as long as you do not lose your drone in the water as you would need to send your drone to DJI for the repair/replacement. I would also recommend you to get a mat for the drone to take off and land, you can do it by hand launching but for beginner it is better to take off from the mat, it also reduce the amount of sand/grass getting into your motors (you definitely want to avoid that). Depends on your preference, you might also want to consider getting a different set of ND filters as the ones included in the combo version are pretty dark and you would need to purchase something more like a ND4, 6 or 8 filter otherwise your photos/videos would be too dark, the filters also act as a protection to your lens also so worth considering it. Other items you might want to consider purchasing would be a strap/land yard to attach the controller to your neck, it is a lot easier if you are trying to hand launch/land the drone as your left hand will need to hold the controller as well as controlling the drone to take off/land. There are also little covers you could purchase to cover the batteries terminals to prevent them from getting scratched or sand/dust ingress, and I personally would recommend the soft silicon version though you can also purchase the hard 3D printed plastic version, I believe they both offer protection to the terminals. If you live in an area with high humidity then it is also worth to put some dehumidifiers inside your carrier bag in order to take out any moisture which is hidden inside your drone from flying in wet weather (though not recommended), the drone is not water proof. I hope you will find this review helpful. Good luck with your purchase! All the best!

Easily the best drone I’ve ever owned!
Wow. What a brilliant piece of kit. Can’t recommend this highly enough! The ocusync 2.0 is phenomenal, I’ve no idea how it can be so good! At an ideal location, you can fly this thing 6km easy and you’ll have to turn around before losing signal because you won’t want to run out of battery! (At night you see this thing for miles due to its bright light so you can keep it in line of sight). I fly this out in the countryside with low interference or obstacles in the way, but even in built up areas it performs seamlessly well, giving you clear footage from the drone – and will travel pretty far too, although I haven’t tested exactly how far. It’s battery life is good, you won’t get 34 minutes, more like 25-30 I’d say. Camera is very good, does everything you want it to really (unless you’re a professional drone photographer in which case there are some better cameras out there).

It has some really cool features built in, the follow me mode is so useful to get some brilliant shots, what I will say though is that it can only handle speeds of up to 12-15mph before it starts to lose you and then it will eventually give up and just hover until you pilot it again – brilliant for filming me on my mountain bike (unless I’m bombing down a hill in which case I’ll realise it’s at the top of the hill waiting for me..). The sensors work well in follow me mode when going straight forward (I’ve seen it dodge and weave right through trees) but it’s less good at doing this when it’s parallel to you!

As far as flying goes, it’s very easy to control although in sport mode it’s very fast (gets up to 42mph in low wind) which can make it harder to control when it’s close to you. Thankfully it’s got 3 modes to chose from and flip it into tripod mode when learning the flying controls if it’s near you or any buildings etc… It handles wind exceptionally well and I have full confidence that it’ll always come home (I’ve had some tough winds of 35+ mph and although it struggled against the wind it powered through – drone was in sports mode of course!)

I’d recommend getting yourself a new, up to date micro SD card with lots of storage for this drone, as high quality files take up a lot of space and 4K videos can be difficult for some old SD cards to handle!

The travel bag is a very nice way of storing all the various bits and bobs you’ve got along with the drone, and is very useful for taking it out with you on walks etc.. Everything fits in nicely and you can be sure it’s nicely protected.

All in all a fantastic drone, easily the best I’ve ever owned and I’d definitely recommend it!

(Make sure to fly responsibly at all times, and check where you’re flying it to make sure you can safely do so!)

    What’s Not to Like
Anyone going to spend £950 on a drone will have done extensive research on this already.
I can honestly say that this drone surpasses my expectations, The size is just perfect. The weight is the right balance and the design has had a lot of thought put into it.
Going from DJI Phanton 3 to Mavic Air 2 is eye opening. It took me 3 years to save up to get a decent drone and this one ha came along at the correct time, as I was looking to buy a Mavic Pro but was still way out of my price range.
The battery boasts of 34 minutes but as anyone knows that is only achievable in a complete perfect world, but does return about 28 in the real world which is still impressive.
The battery is located on the top so there is no chance of it falling off.
With this drone you can just fold in the props and then the legs and that’s it to pack it away, no faffing to take the battery out or removing the props, simply fold them away.
The controller is so much better as well, all you have to do is remove the sticks from their location on the controller and screw them in place, pull up the holder and slip your phone in and you are good to go .
The connection is easy as well and is reliable, however I did have a slight issue updating the new firmware though, I had to try 3 times before it would update.
It comes with 3 batteries and a charger to charge all 3 batteries. Don’t be fooled into thinking that they will all charge at the same time as this is not the case, they charge one after the other, but you can put all 3 on at bedtime and they are done by morning.
WARNING when you get the drone make sure you charge each battery using the normal charger NOT the Hub the 1st time you charge them, this is to register the battery to the drone, why you ask? I have no idea as if you don’t the battery will not charge.
Hope this review has been useful to you and happy flying

    Amazing Drone
I’ve come from a 3DR Solo with a GoPro Hero 3+, which in comparison to the Mavic Air 2 the 3DR Solo was a monster which I had to lug around ii a massive backpack, took a good 15-20mins before i’d even get it off thre ground. I wanted something a lot smaller, good battery life and took great video and photo footage. After many hours watching and reading reviews II took the plunge. This ticked every box I was after. I can be from bag to air in just a few minutes.

It’s tiny, you just don’t realise untiil you get it in the hand. I stashed the drone and controller in my glovebox to nip out and take a quick flight. It fly great, it’s a rocket in sports mode, and super stead iin Tripod mode. The selection of shot’s is great, ii’m still to fully get through everything.

It’s an expensive drone, but the fly more kit is great value over just the standard drone, all the extras are worth the upgrade, especially just for the batteries as they are £105 each (at tiime of review) from Amazon, so if you were to get more batteries down the line this way you’d be getting a load of extra useful kit!

The app is great as it shows you no fly zones and restricted airspace, although these should be checked before flying anyway. Flight log history and flight replay is great to see. These are probably things that have been around on DJI but new to me.

Only downside iis the controller is pretty big when compared to the drones size and the clamp for the device is liimited to mobile phones so ii’ll need to purchase a clamp for a tablet for the extra screen space as icons can get a little cramped together by the battery icon/gps corner.

A top drone so far, would reccomend. Hopefully it doesn’t fly away on me!

    Another awsome drone by DJI
Amazing drone by DJI, had a mavic mini as my first drone and loved but wanted more. Firstly the drone comes well presented in the box and includes a slick carry bag. The drone is easy to setup (ensure you attach the props correctly matching grey tab to grey rotor) and fly more so worth it with extra batteries, etc. The drone is very well made, compact when folded, controller not so compact but nice to hold with phone sitting at the top. Camera is fantastic for daylight (night shots poor and grainy) flight wise I get about 30 mins from each battery. collision sensors as give that extra confidence just a shame it doesn’t have side or above sensors (need to go pro for more). The follow function (trace) works really well however i avoid parallel mode since there are no crash sensors on the sides. Out in the countryside over fields only I managed to fly 3300m (120m up) before losing signal so flies far but doubt you would get the claimed full distance in the UK.
I also purchased the refresh insurance…worth it for confidence and cheaper replacement if crash/write off.

    Pros are
DJI app is intuitive and easy to use
    Build quality
    Easy to fly
    Safety features (RTH, collision sensors)
    Battery life
    4k Camera for video/photo (day)
    Compact
    Flies fast (41mph)
    3 axis gimball
    Pre set shoot options
    Active track

    Cons
    Expensive toy
    Camera quality at dusk/night
30fps max if in HDR mode
    No top/side collision sensors

Overall I give 4 stars as feel for the price you should get a few more features so great but room for improvement

The mavic air 2 like most drones requires you to have a license due to weight, £9 a year and online exam you need to pass

    Professional and Cost effective Drone!
I already own a Phantom 3 and a Mavic Air. Two years after Mavic Air, I thought that
Mavic Air 2 should be the best mis-range drone from DJI that offers flagship features, so
it’s time to upgrade my gears. It just arrived today with 2 days delivery, really fast to get the product and I couldn’t wait to fly and test it right away once I got it in my hand!! After an hour of flying it, I have to say that this drone has far exceeded my high expectations. Below is some feedback I observed with this drone
after my actual test, and I’ll update it after some more flights.
The overall design of MA2 is quite compact and portable, only a little bigger than my
original Mavic Air. The smart controller has a completely new design, it’s much bigger
than my Mavic Air controller(a bit chunkier), but the new controller does feel much better
to hold in the hands, and I like the way it holds my iPhone x plus. But you’ll need a longer
USB-C to Lightning cable for any iPad use.
The actual flight time of MA2 is about 31 mins, which seriously doubles the flight time of
Mavic Air. It also flies so much quieter than Mavic Air.
Not like the WIFI connection of Mavic Air, the live transmission of Mavic Air 2 was very
clear and stable due to its new transmission system.
Comparing with Mavic Air, MA2 is very responsive to controls and I can barely notice
    any latency.
Overall the drone is very stable up in the air. This is why I can’t resist DJI drones. They
    are so good and stable.
I expected the camera to be a bit better, but the HDR image and video modes have
blown me away!! The footage shot by it is quite lovely. The color and contrast of the
footage is even a matched rival of Mavic 2 series. I felt that this drone can be a Mavic 2
zoom alternative, but with cheaper price.
Haven’t got time to test all the intelligent features, but so far, the enhanced ActiveTrack
is quite impressive. I’ve also tried the 8k hyperlapse, but the file is just too big, haven’t
got time to deal with it yet.
Overall, I’m really happy with this drone. Relly a winner from DJI that is suitable for both
    entry-level and professional users.

Great Drone! Fantastic Pictures! Great in the Wind! …so far
Just had first fly of Mavic air 2
I’m glad I got the combo set as the case is really good and charging it without plugging into the drone directly is good.
I previously had a Mavic mini which I liked but the wi fi connection constantly had connection issues when it goes further than a few 100m.
This one so far is excellent! It’s a lot bigger and heavier than the mini. Noticeably a bigger and different class of sky beast.
Having fitted the 4 stealth propellers and charged it up (and waited for the obvious initial firmware update to the drone) we are off!
It was fairly windy and the drone did not show any signs of bother whatsoever.
The blades sound quite quiet which I was surprised about and it’s great.
On first flight the battery lasted about 26 mins before coming home and flew about 9 km.
It is very fast and the obstacle detection is excellent.
The battery was around 22% left then it returned home and landed. Then I downloaded the pictures and videos.

Overall very impressed. It’s a serious flying machine and noticeably better than the mini.
Camera quality is excellent and the HDR is a noticeable improvement.
As to the range I’m not sure about the 6km claim! I got about 800m away and it had a few connection issues so hopefully this will not be an issue going forward on subsequent flights. Perhaps 6 times while flying it said antena signal week which I wasn’t expecting.
Maybe it’s because it’s brand new and will be fixed in further updates! Fingers crossed!
Get one I doubt you will be disappointed unless it fly’s away randomly!

Works ok but geofencing is VERY annoying
Generally speaking this is a very good device. What is a HUGE annoying feature is the geofencing. I understand we need geofencing to stop people flying it near airports, military and other sensitive places – makes perfect sense. However, I tried this in a number of places and the geo fencing stopped me taking of. Or it would take off but not follow. Wasn’t near anywhere where I shoulnt be. As a user all you wanna do is simply get the device up, do a shot and get it down. This is a major problem. Such a shame. Could be great but far too aggressive on the geofencing. So returned and refunded.

    Fantastic
After buying the mini as my first drone and being a little disappointed with the receiver, I jumped all over this when I heard about it. Unfortunately the weather changed the day it arrived here in Scotland but I’ve still managed to get out a few days and I absolutely love it.

It’s fast, responsive, handles wind very well, the range has been phenomenal especially when your out in the country, I’m just having a lot of fun with it while learning all the features and good video setups. So far my top speed was around 35mph in good conditions with a little wind, very impressive and fun to watch.

The camera suits my needs, I’m no photographer and it’s purely a hobby passion of mine and so far it’s been great, I’m still getting used to all the features and what works best, but so far been very impressed with the results and enjoying what it has to offer, which is quite a lot.

The battery life, while nowhere near the 34 mins, is still very close to 30 most of the time, so with the fly more combo kit your getting just shy of an hour 30 in the air.

They’ve also recently added Ipad support which is fab and the higher resolutions to the quickshots, I just hope one day we might see waypoints which it lacks currently unfortunately.

As for how it sounds, well it’s a drone, so it’s still not going to sneak up on anyone, but it’s certainly much quieter than the mini and isn’t all that bad in my opinion.

Can’t wait for lockdown to break so I can really get out somewhere nice to fly but already I can say it’s been worth every penny.

    Fantastic
I got the fly more combo and was surprised to find what looked like just the travel bag inside. However everything was packed neatly in the bag. Some of the parts were in the top pocket, while others were in smaller boxes under travel bag. Took some time to find everything and put the drone together after peeling at least a dozen stickers. The initial battery charge took about 1hr. I really like that the battery and remote can be charged at the same time the same power supply. Another 15-20 min to register, download updates, and scan through the app. Then I went for flight outside. I was very excited flying the drone, and its fairy straight forward. The weekend cannot come fast enough. There were no issues with registration, faulty or missing parts.

Something I noticed is that the remote will charge my phone. After more than and hour of flying, I still had a nearly full phone battery. That is a killer feature. Be careful with the sport mode as is very fun and disables the obstacle sensors. I’ve managed to send my drone into a bush doing a low pass turn. The drone was fine, but one propeller was slightly damaged; pair of small cracks. Quickly replaced it, just to be safe, and I was back in the air. The drone is sturdy.

Batteries are smart. As in they will self-discharge if not used to under 50% for storage and maintenance. Extremely useful feature, but also means that you will need to charge them before flight. I certain amount of planning is required I suppose, like checking the weather.
